Global Logistics Manager - Distribution

The Global Logistics Manager will manage multiple functions in the company’s logistics department.  Responsibilities include the transportation of finished goods, vendor selection and negotiation, and inventory control.  Manage the input and system maintenance of accurate HTS classifications as set forth by U.S. Customs regulations. Provide guidance on trade compliance. Direct experience in clearance of imports into the U.S. (customs brokerage, interactions with import brokers and/or U.S. Customs and Border Protection) Plan, organize, direct and evaluate new and existing logistics personnel.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

40% Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensuring all products being imported into the U.S. commerce are properly classifies (HTS) as per current U.S. Customs guidelines
  • Maintaining our C-TPAT program to ensure full compliance as per DHS guidelines.
  • Conducting compliance audits to ensure all aspects of the entry are accurate (HTS, valuation, markings, etc.)
  • Maintaining our compliance database up to date with product classification and assist information.
  • Working with our Customs broker to ensure all inbound products are accurately and timely cleared through U.S. Customs
  • Conduct yearly training sessions with Knowles-Sourcing pertaining to current regulatory and security practices.


40% Transportation Logistics:

  • Negotiate contracts pertaining to rates and service levels covering all modes of transportation (ocean, air, rail, and truck).
  • Working with our logistical forwarders to ensure all orders are moving through our supply chain in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Conduct bi-monthly meetings with various internal and external parties to provide shipment visibility and discuss initiatives affecting the movement of orders worldwide.
  • Audit all transportation vendor invoices for services rendered as per our contract.


20% Staff Management:

  • Supervise, direct and coordinate activities for the Logistics non-exempt clerk.  Ensuring that departmental practices and procedures as well as company policies are being followed.
